There's a scripture that talks about people without vision lose hope. What is that vision? It is the Divine Direction that comes from God. It's easy to get downcast when you lose focus or the sight of God's guidance in your life. His Divine Direction. His VISION.
Notice the second part of that verse, "but happy is he who keeps the law." What law is that? Well, I'll tell you...God's law, his Word, the Bible, Scripture. God's vision for your life personally, always stays within the boundaries of his law and truth. That is a constant. God's Word is a solid, unshifting foundation. Whenever we try to go beyond those boundaries, we begin to fail. We lose focus when we lose sight of God's Truth that comes from Scripture. When that happens, depression begins to set in and Satan has permission, in a sense, to cloud our vision even more. We've given him access. Once we become aware of that, then we need to speak to our soul and bring it back into alignment with God's Truth. "Why are you downcast and discouraged? God is my hope! Trust him! He will deliver me and guide me." Then, ask God to bring his vision for you back into focus.
Living before the face of God means that everything you do, he sees. We can't hide anything from him. We may as well repent of our sin of trying to do life our own way. Stay open with him. He will deliver you! Faith is knowing that God will breakthrough for you even when it's still dark and your future looks bleak. Set your mind on things above, don't let the enemy get a foothold in your heart. Keep pressing forward towards that upward call and keep pressing on towards the goal for the prize! (Look up Philippians 3:12-15)
It also says in Philippians 4:8, "Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy... meditate on these things." Now there's a vision to focus on.
